Job Overview:
The First Cook is responsible for preparing meals for patients, staff, and visitors, while also managing the activities of the kitchen team. This role emphasizes a commitment to customer service and adherence to professional culinary standards, ensuring that food production schedules are effectively followed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, utilizing standardized recipes and cooking techniques.
• Ensure all food items are properly labeled and comply with HACCP guidelines.
• Oversee food preparation processes to reduce waste and maintain portion control.
• Guide and supervise kitchen staff, delegating tasks as necessary.
• Act as a Supervisor when required and collaborate with management on menu adjustments.

Essential Duties:

• Monitor food preparation to minimize waste and ensure quality.
• Estimate food needs and manage portion sizes according to established recipes.
• Develop and standardize new recipes as needed.
• Complete all mandatory training and fulfill departmental responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) - Preferred
• At least 3 years of relevant culinary experience - Required
