The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care. This role involves utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, and execute patient care, while also providing education to patients and their families, and ensuring continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in effective communication with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to guarantee high-quality patient care.
- Implement critical thinking and decisive judgment in patient care scenarios.
- Work autonomously in a fast-paced and often stressful environment.
Minimum Education:
Possession of an active RN license in Tennessee or a Compact State RN license with plans to obtain a Tennessee RN license.
Essential Skills:
Ability to utilize various computer systems and demonstrate strong computer proficiency.
Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in operating standard patient care equipment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification, current or to be obtained shortly after hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, current or to be obtained within one year of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, current or to be obtained within one year of hire.
