Position Overview:

This role is for an Intermediate Engineer specializing in gas distribution systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently assessing, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will utilize your judgment to recommend adaptations and modifications as necessary. Typical responsibilities will include engineering design, problem-solving, and providing technical support to optimize the operation and maintenance of company assets. You will collaborate with a team of field personnel, technicians, and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct engineering assignments and propose solutions to engineering-related challenges.
  • Collaborate with seasoned professionals to implement timely solutions regarding routine engineering, design, and maintenance of company assets.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers to provide follow-up and assistance on defined issues, ensuring adherence to time and budget constraints.
  • Develop analytical models and assess data to recommend improvements in processes and programs; prepare and deliver presentations to management and external stakeholders.
  • Provide field engineering support and technical assistance as needed.
  • Stay informed on current technology and market trends relevant to the energy sector.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 0 - 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Candidates nearing degree completion may be considered, pending verification prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in designing natural gas customer meter and regulator stations.
  • Familiarity with Synergi Gas hydraulic modeling software.
  • Knowledge of DTE Gas's natural gas distribution network.
  • Experience with Part 192 Gas Distribution regulations.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
