Regional Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Manager to join our Charleston, SC team at Self-Help. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing community relationships, and overseeing retail operations in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term business strategies to optimize branch capacity and achieve business goals.
  • Support branch expansion opportunities and organize external new business development programs within the regional market.
  • Assist in the development of branch business plans to ensure deposit and loan production goals are met.
  • Nurture and develop community relations to enhance SHCU reputation and identify partnerships and collaborations opportunities with public, private, and nonprofit entities.
  • Represent Self-Help in civic and community events and venues to further enhance its image and develop business.
  • Take ownership of, drives, and is accountable for branch performance within the region, including operational and growth metrics.
  • Lead the strategic planning process for the region, recommending goals, developing, communicating, and implementing branch-level production goals, budgets, and operating plans.
  • Maintain operational integrity throughout the branches assigned to the region and promote professional growth of team members through planned development activities and experiences.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent related experience.
  • 10 years of experience in banking, including a minimum of 5 years in a management capacity.
  • Strong commitment to our mission - creating economic opportunity for all, especially people of color, women, rural residents, and low-wealth families and communities.
  • Preference for working in organizations that place priority on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of financial services policies and procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements, and economic and accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work beyond normal work hours, as needed.
