Key Responsibilities- Maintain strong relationships with clients, possessing a thorough understanding of their business and control systems.
- Assume the role of engagement partner or report directly to the engagement partner on engagements, ensuring compliance with firm policies.
- Oversee all phases of audits, reviews, or accounting engagements, ensuring deliverables meet applicable accounting frameworks and firm policies.
- Appraise the engagement partner of important developments on client accounts, identifying potential issues and implementing solutions.
- Ensure engagements are properly scheduled and staffed, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in discipline or industry, specifically for not-for-profit clients.
- Manage billing and collection practices, ensuring compliance with firm policy.
- Supervise staff, providing on-the-job training and reviewing work papers and reports.
- Play a pivotal role in staff performance evaluations, reviews, and counseling.
- Contribute to the recruitment of staff and participate in interviews for Assurance and Advisory candidates.
- Represent the firm in business development matters, developing a network of business contacts and referrals.
- Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior manager position, preferably working with not-for-profit clients.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Holds a current and valid CPA's license.
- Ability to travel to assigned client locations.
- Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA firm.
- Possess thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States, United States Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards, as needed.
- Maintains appropriate compliance with all Firm-wide policies and procedures.
- Ability to direct, review, and train departmental staff.
