Position Overview

We are excited to present an opportunity to join Parker Hannifin Corporation, a global leader in the manufacturing of industrial refrigeration components, as a CNC Machinist. This role is for the first shift and is part of our dedicated team.

Parker offers a competitive compensation package, including a $5,000 sign-on bonus for this position. The starting wage is based on experience, with a range from $22.88 to $36.72 per hour, along with profit sharing and comprehensive benefits available from the first day of employment. Key Responsibilities

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for preparing programs for stock removal, surface finishing, and ensuring dimensional tolerances of parts using multi-axis computer numerically controlled machinery.


  • Review engineering drawings and specifications to determine the sequence of operations, methods, and procedures, including the selection of tools and holders.
  • Assist in designing special fixtures and tooling, and recommend modifications to existing equipment to adapt to new or changing conditions.
  • Perform calculations, refer to charts and tables, and determine appropriate speeds and feeds based on material characteristics and tooling.
  • Utilize computer systems to create, modify, or update programs; verify and correct programs to ensure accurate tool paths, monitor machine operations, and assist in program validation at the machine center.
  • Update programs in response to engineering changes or authorized deviations and maintain current CNC program documentation.
  • Develop and implement plans for tool monitoring, usage, program modifications, specification changes, and process improvements.
  • Investigate production machine issues, diagnose and resolve manufacturing problems related to fixtures, tools, and programs.
  • Provide training and guidance to Machine Technicians on engineering processes and collaborate with the Shop Supervisor to instruct associates on new or revised methods.
  • Gather data to support cost reduction initiatives and enhancements in manufacturing and engineering processes.
  • Engage in discussions regarding new products and propose changes in design or manufacturing operations for optimal facility utilization.
  • Apply your knowledge and skills to set up and operate various production machinery across multiple cells as required.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for a vocational degree in a related field or a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.


Language Proficiency:

Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions, including engineering and manufacturing change requests, blueprints, operation manuals, and procedural guidelines. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with production associates, engineering staff, supervisors, and management.


Mathematical Proficiency:
Ability to apply advanced mathematics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics. Proficient in interpreting complex drawings and utilizing a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and gauges.
Certifications:
Completion of Lock Out/Tag Out training is required.
Reasoning Skills:

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve practical problems and address a variety of concrete variables with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting various instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.


Additional Skills:
Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving machine and process issues. Familiarity with various office equipment and software programs used in engineering is essential.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position require frequent standing, using hands to manipulate objects, and lifting or moving items weighing between 5 to 25 lbs. Occasionally, the role may require bending, stooping, and lifting or moving heavier items weighing between 50 to 80 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include near acuity and depth perception.


Work Environment:

This position involves working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to various environmental factors. The noise level in the production area is typically loud, while the office environment is moderate. Our facility is climate-controlled, enhancing operational efficiency and providing a comfortable working atmosphere.
