Position Summary:


The Distributor Operator is tasked with the safe operation of a truck equipped with a tank to apply oil or bituminous emulsions on various road surfaces. This role primarily operates within the Sioux City area, with occasional travel required within a 150-mile radius.

The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with Saturday work as needed. This is a seasonal role, allowing for winter months to be utilized for personal activities while maintaining year-round benefits.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment and job sites to identify and rectify any unsafe conditions, ensuring proper maintenance of all equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning the oil truck.
  • Safely operate the truck equipped with oil or bituminous emulsions.
  • Connect hoses from storage tanks to the truck and manage the filling of the pressure tank with bituminous liquid.
  • Regulate the burner to heat the liquid and initiate the auxiliary pump.
  • Drive the truck at a consistent speed while maintaining accurate load tickets.
  • Assist construction teams during unloading processes.
  • Maintain proper documentation within the truck cab.
  • Manage inventory and order necessary materials.
  • Clean and maintain tac nozzles and barricade commercial parking areas as needed.
  • Operate a power broom and communicate effectively with team members and clients, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Address and resolve issues related to material quality and equipment functionality, collaborating with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNR, and other safety and environmental regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on general education, grammar, and arithmetic.
  • Experience in equipment maintenance and operation.
  • Possession of a valid commercial driver’s license and the ability to maintain a clean driving record.
