Project Overview

Fuel Tech Inc. is a leading technology company dedicated to developing, commercializing, and applying state-of-the-art proprietary technologies for air pollution control, process optimization, combustion efficiency, and advanced engineering services.

This position involves day-to-day project engineering activities, including installation, start-up, and troubleshooting of equipment at the project site. The successful candidate will work closely with their supervisor and may be functionally assigned to a Project Manager for specific projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed project engineering designs for small to medium-sized projects, including flow and pressure tables for process flow diagrams, pipe sizing, instrumentation selection, and pump and control valve sizing and selection.
  • Create and utilize all necessary engineering drawings and deliverables, such as P&ID, fabrication, BOM, O&M manual, FAT documents, and vendor drawings.
  • Evaluate quotations from qualified vendors and recommend procurement strategies to the assigned Project Manager or supervisor.
  • Coordinate orders and deliveries with mechanical, electrical, and structural fabrication vendors.
  • Supervise and monitor equipment fabrication, document results through written reports and photos.
  • Schedule equipment shipping between vendors and customers.
  • Perform field equipment startup, commissioning, and prepare logs/records/reports to document the process.
  • Communicate project status through project reports, meeting minutes, action lists, and required communications.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and good engineering judgment. Proficiency in industry design standards and codes is essential. This role requires 3-5 years of project engineering experience with increasing responsibility in executing engineering projects.
