Electrical Engineer - Water/Wastewater

At Stantec, we're committed to delivering sustainable solutions that make a positive impact on the world. As an Electrical Engineer - Water/Wastewater, you'll play a critical role in designing and engineering electrical systems for water and wastewater projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the electrical discipline design and engineering of impactful projects, applying detailed electrical engineering knowledge and concepts to size, evaluate, select, and specify electrical systems.
  • Conduct field investigations, liaise with clients and/or contractors, prepare design calculations, and lead the development of construction packages (drawings and specifications).
  • Estimate construction costs, contribute to business development activities, and participate in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
  • Develop and manage the electrical discipline scope, budget, staffing, and schedule for projects, and lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
  • Conduct quality assurance and constructability reviews of project deliverables produced by peers and subordinate engineers, and assist in the development of new standards and specifications for the electrical group.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong understanding of electrical systems, the National Electrical Code, means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production, and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with specialized power system software such as ETAP and/or SKM PowerTools is an asset.
