KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and implement telematics on-board monitoring application software tailored for machinery and engine systems.

Conduct data acquisition and processing of essential information from onboard electronics, subsequently relaying this information to the back-office team for enhanced customer and client feature development.

Develop, configure, and validate telematics on-board application software utilizing C++.

Identify and resolve software issues, while providing updates on development progress.

Collaborate closely with telematics systems engineers and other software development teams.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline.

3-5 years of experience in C++ development, particularly with C++11/14 programming standards.

3-5 years of experience in embedded software development.

3-5 years of experience in object-oriented design methodologies.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Proficiency in Linux operating systems.

Experience in developing embedded control systems for telematics applications within the heavy machinery or automotive sectors to collect data and facilitate remote asset monitoring.

Familiarity with data link protocols such as CAN, J1939, and TCP/IP.

Experience with CAN-based tools, including CANoe and CANalyzer.

Knowledge of GIT for configuration management.

Experience applying design patterns in software development.

Experience in creating unit tests and employing test-driven development practices.

Familiarity with UML tools like Rhapsody for developing designs through UML diagrams.

Experience working in Ubuntu environments.

Understanding of machine systems or mechanical principles.

Customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
