Overview
Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administering respiratory care procedures and modalities, as well as experience with specialized ventilators.
Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive respiratory care to patients, including administering respiratory care procedures and modalities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive respiratory care to patients
- Administer respiratory care procedures and modalities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues
- Assist physician with bedside or other procedures as applicable to facility
- Clean, maintain, and ensure proper functionality of equipment
- Educate and instruct patients in purpose, technique, self-care, goal of therapy, and disease management
- Facilitate clinical problem solving and collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients
Licensure and Certification
- Respiratory Therapist certification (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
- Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Specialist (NPS) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Education and Experience
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- No experience required
