Caregiver Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Caregiver Specialist to join our team at GTM REIT. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Job Summary:
The Caregiver Specialist will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our residents, promoting their independence and quality of life. This includes assisting with activities of daily living, providing safe transfers and positioning, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including medication administration and personal care.
- Provide safe and effective transfers, positioning, and turning of clients using proper body mechanics.
- Assist with culinary service as needed.
- Respond effectively to resident behavior and use supportive communication skills.
- Maintain a safe environment by recognizing environmental hazards and taking steps to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Demonstrate good infection control practices by understanding disease transmission and using proper hand washing techniques.
- Assist with elimination needs, including toileting and bowel/bladder training.
- Observe and report resident physical and emotional changes.
- Promote open communication between healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
- Good attendance and a willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of one year of previous care experience.
- A current Tuberculosis skin test or chest x-ray.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
Skills and Qualifications:
You will need to possess:
- The ability to relate positively and communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- The ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols.
- Sufficient computer skills to print documents and enter information into resident records.
Estimated Salary:$40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience.
