We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities- Assist RNs with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation.
- Measure and document patient data, such as blood pressures, temperatures, and intake/output.
- Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring patient rooms are prepared and patient belongings are managed.
- Perform purposeful rounding, communicating patient observations and needs to RNs.
- Assist with patient positioning, transporting, and nutritional needs, including diet review and tray setup.
- Collect and process patient specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and maintain competency as required.
- Practice infection prevention policies and procedures, demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques.
- Coordinate tests and treatments with various departments, maintaining a working knowledge of EHR systems and diagnostic services.
- Facilitate patient communication, screen incoming calls, and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Compile chart forms, obtain medical records, and verify patient demographic information.
- BLS certification within 45 days of hire.
- Nurse Aide certification in good standing with the State Registry.
- Basic computer skills and excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull with 30 lbs of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with assistance.
