Position Overview:

Compensation: $50-$65

Role Scope:
Under the guidance of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist, the primary responsibility of this position is to administer radiation therapy treatments to patients. Precision in positioning the radiation beam to align with the targeted tumor volume and delivering the prescribed dosage accurately are critical functions of this role. Compliance with the City of Hope's standards, including the Code of Ethics and Business Practices, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and document radiation therapy treatments accurately as directed.
- Maintain and enter patient treatment data into the electronic medical record system.
- Participate in the training of newly hired therapists and students.
- Assist in managing patient appointment schedules and ensuring accurate billing submissions.
- Prepare custom molds and cut blocks as required.
- Perform simple mu calculations accurately.
- Interpret computerized treatment plans effectively.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
  • ARRT certification is mandatory, along with a valid state license for radiation therapy.
  • Radiation Therapist I: 0-3 years of active practice as an RTT.
  • Radiation Therapist II: 3-5 years of active practice as an RTT.
  • Senior Radiation Therapist: 5+ years of active practice as an RTT.

Applicants will be placed in the appropriate title based on their qualifications and relevant experience.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role require the ability to sit and use hands for various tasks. Occasionally, standing, walking, and reaching are necessary. The role may involve lifting or moving items up to 30 pounds. Vision and hearing must be corrected to normal ranges.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily office-based, necessitating significant interaction with management, staff, and external stakeholders.
