Electrical Commissioning Engineer Opportunity

They ensure the reliability of mission-critical facilities for numerous large organizations, supporting Enterprise Clients and Hyperscale Companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in daily commissioning activity meetings, which include equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures, development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and methods of procedures (MOPs), and comprehensive commissioning documentation.
  • Prepare commissioning test procedures and reports, develop and maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tools to track commissioning projects, and write comprehensive reports including recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, lists of deficiencies, equipment operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning, and develop and administer functional tests for various systems, such as electrical distribution systems, UPS, standby generators, etc.
  • System assembly, commission plan preparation, and adherence to company QC process and procedures, as well as helping lead and manage external resources, scheduling and directing periodic commissioning meetings, attending construction and coordination meetings if required for the project, and interfacing with clients, contractors, equipment vendors, and owners' agents as needed.
  • Verify results of test reports, assist with field troubleshooting of commissioned equipment as needed, and have field experience in the operation and application of Power Quality Analyzers, Power Disturbance Analyzers, Data loggers, and related system testing equipment.
Requirements:
  • 4-10+ years of experience with Electrical Power Systems.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering (a plus).
  • Experience commissioning enterprise data centers, colos, and hyperscale companies.
  • Willingness to travel 10%.
  • A/E experience working in complex facilities or mission-critical projects (a big plus).
  • Previous Data Center/Mission Critical experience (a must).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (this role requires heavy amounts of writing, documentation, and client interaction).
  • Electrical equipment testing experience in a Critical Facilities/facility environment.
  • Previous experience conducting Level 1-5 Commissioning.
  • Possess basic knowledge of systems design for various projects.
  • Previous experience in the Military/Military Veterans (a huge plus).
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
