About the Job

This position is responsible for providing direct services to dental patients and assisting with faculty clinic coverage at the Special Healthcare Needs Clinic in the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive general dentistry services for patients with special health care needs.
  • Supervise trainees and staff in providing these services.
  • Oversee staff, dental fellows, and dental students providing care in the Special Healthcare Needs Clinic and hospital operating room.
  • Effectively utilize electronic clinical documentation and billing software.
  • Participate in clinic meetings and quality improvement activities.
  • Apply principles of good practice management to maximize effective and productive use of clinic time and resources.
  • Promote a cooperative clinical educational environment between program fellows, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Stay current with developments in the field through continuing education and maintain current Minnesota dental license.
Qualifications:
  • DDS, DMD, or international equivalent degree.
  • Current State of Minnesota dental license or eligible by start of position.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Clinical experience (at least 2 years).
