Overview

At SCA Health, we are committed to delivering high-quality patient care and providing a dynamic work environment for our team members. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse in our pre-operative area, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical center.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the RN and physician in providing pre-operative care to patients, including confirming preoperative testing and medical clearance.
  • Collaborate with the RN in assessing patients' physical and emotional status, and implement and document preoperative regimens of care according to policy and procedure.
  • Recognize patients' needs for support, answer questions appropriately, and provide for privacy and confidentiality.
  • Assist in the admission of patients to the pre-operative area according to established guidelines.
  • Implement appropriate nursing activities to provide safe and individualized nursing care, and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care by documenting patients' responses to interventions.
  • Convey ideas, concepts, and facts related to patient care in a logical and concise manner, and document records and other forms accurately and according to policies and procedures.
  • Apply technical and specialized skills relevant to pre-operative nursing, and perform nursing functions under RN direction and supervision.
  • Observe safety measures in patient-care activities.

Qualifications
  • LVN with active license in state required.
  • Certification in BLS.
