Key Responsibilities of the ADON:
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing Services to plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and oversee daily operations of the nursing department in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and revision of written policies and procedures governing nursing operations.
- Ensure that essential reference materials are available to support the nursing department's daily needs.
- In the absence of the Director, participate in various facility committees (e.g., Infection Control, Policy Advisory, Pharmaceutical, Budget, Quality Assurance & Assessment).
- Aid the Director in preparing written and/or oral reports regarding nursing service programs and activities for committee review.
- Address staffing shortages by coordinating replacement staff as needed.
- Monitor infection control, exposure control, and resident care trends to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to the Director of Nursing.
- Undertake additional special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience in Long Term Care settings.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON).
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices.
