Job Description:
As an Associate Electrical Engineer at L3Harris, you will be responsible for determining design approaches and parameters, performing system analysis to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints, and utilizing modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results. You will also select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability, perform simulations, and present design reviews to peer engineers. Additionally, you will write scripts to control synthesis and build tools, and have the opportunity to work on digital engineering, design, analysis, modification, testing, and evaluation of FPGA and programmable hardware, circuit card assemblies, and digital communications systems. You will also have the opportunity to work on modem design, including SATCOM, wireless, cellular, and software-defined radios, and digital signal processing, including algorithm development, software coding, and simulation/modeling using MATLAB. You will also have the opportunity to work on microelectronics design, including advanced electronics packaging and MEMS technology, and high-density interconnect and semiconductor packaging technology. You will also have the opportunity to work on RF engineering, including RF/Microwave device testing and evaluation, and familiarity with common commercial RF design and analysis tools. You will also have the opportunity to work on photonics engineering, including design, analysis, modification, testing, and evaluation of optical communications systems and subsystem level components, and RF photonic systems and subsystem level components. You will also have the opportunity to work on antenna engineering, including design, analysis, modification, testing, and evaluation of antenna systems and subsystem level components, and utilize design tools such as HFSS, CST, MATLAB, and GRASP. You will also have the opportunity to work on hardware design verification, including design and modification of tests to verify the operational state of various L3Harris products and accessories, and test, analyze, and evaluate the requirements compliance of L3 Harris hardware products. You will also have the opportunity to work on optical engineering, including perform optical design and analysis on advanced telescopes, calibrators, unique optical test sets, develop optical budgets and sensitivities, perform analyses to show compliance to optical requirements and specifications, perform tolerancing analyses to assess manufacturability and optical alignment, provide optical modeling, analysis, and metrology support during system alignment, integration, and testing, and perform other unique modeling tasks, such as spectral tuning/splitting, polarization, phase retrieval, image simulation, etc. You will also have the opportunity to support the development of optical technologies and architectural concepts to support the company's current and new business opportunities.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or related field.

Preferred Skills:
Knowledge and/or experience with VHDL, MCM, HFSS, Network, Power, Analog, Antennas, Controls, ENE, RF, Photonics, Modem, EDA, DSP, MATLAB, Communication Systems, FPGA, Aerospace industry or Optical Engineering.

Knowledge of Code V and/or Zemax software tools.

Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.

Knowledge of FRED, Matlab, Python.

Knowledge of and/or understanding circuit analysis and operational concepts.

Familiarity with various computing environments (LINUX/Windows).

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $60,000 - $111,000.

This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
