Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, safe, and cost-effective total nursing care to all patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) utilizing the nursing process. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the need of the patient and family members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides high-quality, safe, and cost-effective total nursing care to all patients in the PICU.
- Assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the need of the patient and family members.
- Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, and infection control.
- Reviews orders/test results and documents care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
- Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Provides education and support to patients and families to promote health and wellness.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
- One (1) year recent experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
- Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Florida.
- American Heart Association BLS, PALS, & NRP required.
