We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiographer to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound procedures and assisting with stress echocardiogram and TEE procedures.
Responsibilities- Perform echocardiograms, including 2-D, 3-D, strain, M-Mode, color flow imaging, and doppler studies.
- Recognize the need for contrast imaging enhancement and administer as per protocol.
- Document preliminary measurements and findings within the Cardiovascular Information Systems for use by reading physicians and cardiologists.
- Obtain patient history and perform procedures as ordered.
- Help patients onto and off of bed.
- Notify supervisor of acute or life-threatening abnormalities.
- Obtain digital acquisition and storage of echo study in Cardiovascular Information Systems for physician interpretation.
- Transport equipment to patient's room for bedside studies, as needed.
- Calibrate, clean, and maintain equipment, reporting breakdowns and supply needs.
- Follow special procedure policies regarding probe maintenance and sterile processing.
- Complete EPIC workflow and process billing charge requisition, log books, worksheets, and reports, as applicable.
- Clean and prepare room for next patient.
- Identify patient needs and modify care to meet those needs.
- Adhere to IAC and Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
- Participate in performance initiatives and monitoring.
- Graduate of a certified cardiovascular technology school and/or graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program with a specialty in cardiac sonography.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
- One-year clinical echocardiography experience.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification or Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certification.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a maximum of 375 lbs., and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day.
