Responsibilities and Duties

KCI Technologies is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to take on the role of Project Manager in the Mid-Atlantic region. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical oversight for the electrical engineering team and ensuring quality assurance on various project deliverables.
  • Guiding design engineers in making informed mechanical design decisions, including equipment selection, drafting, specifications, calculations, and design narrative development.
  • Serving as the primary client contact and project manager for larger, more complex projects involving multiple disciplines and external subconsultants.
  • Demonstrating a strong technical foundation in electrical engineering principles and design.
  • Possessing broader technical knowledge in areas such as Low Voltage, Arc Flash, Energy Conservation, Mechanical, and Fire Protection engineering is advantageous.
  • Developing proposals, including qualifications and technical approaches/scope/fees.
  • Conducting contract reviews and managing project budgets and scopes, including negotiating additional work and fees.
  • Assisting in workload planning for team members.
  • Maintaining excellent communication and coordination with all project stakeholders.
  • Occasionally traveling to project sites to assess existing conditions and conduct construction phase inspections.
  • Cultivating existing client relationships while identifying and developing new opportunities.
  • Engaging with public and private sector clients is essential.
  • Committing to continuous professional development through education and training.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of years of professional experience is necessary.
  • Relevant professional certifications are preferred.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is mandatory, and background checks may be conducted based on the position.

Performance Expectations

  • Complete the Annual Individual Training Program.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members.
  • Ensure adequate backup personnel are trained to support your role during absences.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through regular feedback and identifying future project needs.
  • Adhere to all KCI policies and procedures.
  • Ensure project compliance with ISO standards.
  • Manage the work routines of assigned staff and delegate tasks as necessary.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
  • Contribute to the development of project-specific safety plans and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Report monthly on proposal outcomes to the operations manager.
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted utilization targets.
  • Participate in regular project team meetings to discuss progress and tasks.
  • Provide project performance metrics and updates.
  • Collaborate with other practices and sub-consultants as needed.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget while meeting all scope requirements.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and personnel.
  • Prepare and submit monthly project completion reports.
  • Develop interpractice agreements and manage external requests as required.
  • Provide regular updates to practice leaders on project status.
  • Maintain effective communication with project assistants and leaders.
  • Conduct site visits to gather necessary data for project execution.
  • Prepare preliminary design concepts for approval.
  • Interpret technical documents essential for project delivery.
