Job Summary

This position is an exciting opportunity to join the team at UNC Health Care as a Senior Technologist in the Special Hematology Laboratory. As a key member of our clinical laboratory team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow to ensure accurate and timely patient care.
  • Assist with bone marrow collection and perform complex specialty testing, such as Hemoglobin/Thalassemia Profile on HPLC.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams and pathologists to ensure seamless communication and high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in quality control and equipment maintenance to ensure the highest standards of laboratory performance.
  • Train new employees and provide technical support to ensure the success of our team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • MLS/MT (ASCP), MT (NCA), or MT (AMT) certification.
  • Two years of experience at the medical laboratory technologist, medical laboratory technician, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist level.
