Role Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to enhance our Finance department.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Cost Accountant will take charge of standard costing, budgeting, cost variance analysis, and driving improvements in business processes. This role offers the chance to work in a vibrant environment and lead initiatives to refine the standard costing system while fostering professional growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate manufacturing expenses and generate regular reports that contrast standard costs with actual expenditures.
  • Oversee, maintain, and improve the cost accounting framework.
  • Gather and analyze data to ascertain the costs associated with business operations, including raw materials, labor, and other related expenses.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts and communicate findings to senior management.
  • Support month-end closing activities by preparing journal entries for various product lines and standard costs.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and engineering teams to ensure accurate costing and assist in new product development.
  • Prepare various ad hoc reports as requested by management.
  • Enhance reporting on standard costs and variance analysis.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing with a focus on cost accounting.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process enhancements, with a proactive approach and effective communication skills across various functions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to build relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with JD Edwards ERP system.
