Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to join our team at Eckerd Youth Alternatives. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date health records for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and verify the completeness of health records for all enrollees
  • Schedule appointments for students with healthcare professionals on and off-center
  • Review medical bills from off-center providers to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
  • Prepare purchase requests for pharmaceuticals and subcontractors' bills and general office supplies as directed by the Health and Wellness Director
  • Answer phone calls, file documents, type memos, and update computer databases
  • Prepare Health Management Information System Reports (HMIS) and other reports as directed
  • Operate office machines and instruct others in their operation
  • Attend required staff training sessions
  • Communicate effectively and model appropriate Career Success Standards (CSS) and employability skills
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • One year of experience in a complex clerical capacity preferred
  • Training in a medical clerical field preferred
  • Experience in a medical or healthcare environment preferred
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred
