Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join its growing team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for both biweekly and monthly payroll. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Additionally, you will coordinate with the HR department to verify that employee benefits and payroll are properly processed.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for both biweekly and monthly payroll.
2. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
3. Coordinate with the HR department to verify that employee benefits and payroll are properly processed.
4. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
5. Handle and resolve payroll discrepancies and irregularities.
6. Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive payroll records.
7. Check and audit timekeeping records for compliance with established standards.
8. Handle changes in exemptions, job status, and job titles as it pertains to payroll management.
9. Ensure all payroll processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role.
2. Extensive knowledge and experience with biweekly payroll and multistate payroll.
3. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is highly preferred.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular focus on Excel.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
7. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
8. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and senior management.
9. Knowledge of payroll tax laws, wage and hour laws, and best practices.
10. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
11. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
