Rock Sample Specialist

We are a leading provider of well site geological services, seeking an experienced Rock Sample Specialist to join our drilling operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a geologist who enjoys working in the field to begin or develop their career.
Columbine Logging offers a unique chance to work with our team, providing well site geologic services and collecting rock samples to create a record of the geologic properties throughout the well. Your observations and data collection will be vital to our customers.
As a Rock Sample Specialist, you will be responsible for describing rock sample cuttings circulated during the drilling process, maintaining gas monitoring equipment, and creating documents called mud logs. You will also have the opportunity to work within various regions, not limited to your city of residence. With possible continued education in specialty services such as Mass Spectrometry, X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), or Flame Ionization Detection (FID), this role offers a chance to grow and develop your skills.
The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. or B.A. degree in Geology or related sciences and have customer service experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, SharePoint, and Teams, is also preferred. Reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift 50 pounds are essential requirements.
Working at remote drilling locations, you will enjoy independent work, variable schedules, outdoor activities, and travel opportunities. This role offers a competitive salary range of $65,975.69 per year and a comprehensive benefits package, including per diem, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, AD&D insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
