Welder

Loc Performance Products, LLC is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in the production of complex mechanical products, fabricated structures, and systems. As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding metal components together using mig/tig welding equipment.

• Weld metal components together using mig/tig welding equipment
• Obtain specified electrodes and insert them into portable holders or thread consumable electrode wire through portable welding guns
• Connect cables from welding units to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by the Welding Engineer or Welding Technician
• Start power supplies to produce electric current and strike arcs to melt and deposit metal from electrodes to workpieces
• Manually guide electrodes or guns along weld lines, maintaining length of arcs and speed of movement to form specified depths of fusion and beads
• Examine welds for bead sizes and other specifications
• Apply filler rods manually to supply weld metal
• Clean or degrease weld joints or workpieces
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes
• Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces
• Chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter
• Preheat workpieces with hand torches or heating furnaces
• Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in jigs or fixtures
• Tack assemblies together

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
