Job Description:
- Shipboard Repairs and Maintenance: Inspect and assess wooden components on vessels, such as decks, railings, furniture, and bulkheads. Repair or replace damaged or worn wooden structures using appropriate techniques and materials.
- Fabrication and Installation: Construct, modify, and install wooden or composite components for ships, such as ladders, hatches, and cabinetry.
- Yard Work: Build and repair shipyard structures such as scaffolding, platforms, and templates.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: At least 5 years of professional carpentry experience, with prior work in a shipyard or maritime setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in marine carpentry techniques, including joinery and framing. Ability to work with marine-grade wood and composite materials.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, working at heights, and in confined spaces.
