CHI Health Good Samaritan is seeking a skilled Critical Care Travel Nurse RN to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As a Critical Care Travel Nurse RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor and manage life-sustaining therapies, such as mechanical ventilation, vasopressors, and cardiac drips.
- Perform advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and other critical care procedures as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and unit performance.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Nebraska or Iowa.
- 2+ years of experience in critical care nursing, preferably in an ICU setting.
- ACLS and BLS certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Number of beds: 33.
- Average daily census: 16.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:2-3 for adults, 1:2-4 for pediatrics.
- Common diagnoses/types of patients: Adults and pediatrics, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress.
