Body Shop Manager Job Description

Pack Auto Group, a leading automotive dealership, is seeking a skilled and experienced Body Shop Manager to oversee daily operations and lead a team of technicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collision repair processes, techniques, and equipment, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the body shop, including scheduling, workflow, and quality control.
  • Ensure repair estimates are accurate and competitive, maintaining profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor a team of body shop technicians, ensuring work is completed on time and according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies, customers, and internal departments to ensure a smooth repair process.
  • Monitor shop performance metrics, including productivity, cycle time, and profitability, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Implement safety standards and ensure all technicians follow safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Order and maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and materials needed for repairs.
  • Manage customer relations by providing updates on repair progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to review performance, address issues, and promote a positive work environment.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Body Shop Manager or a similar role in an automotive collision repair facility.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of collision repair processes, techniques, and equipment.
  • Experience working with insurance companies and writing repair estimates.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of shop management software is preferred.
  • ASE or I-CAR certification is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
