Overview:
Delivers spiritual and pastoral support to patients, families, significant others, and staff across various faith backgrounds, including those without specific religious affiliations.
Care is administered through spiritual evaluations and interventions, which may include active listening, prayer, sacraments, counseling, and educational efforts.
The individual contributes to a positive workplace atmosphere that encourages wellness, preventive care, and community engagement, aligning with the mission of the CHRISTUS Health System throughout the care continuum.
Key Responsibilities:
Capable of identifying and addressing the spiritual requirements of patients, families, significant others, and team members through support, intervention, and various pastoral methods.
Works effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team, offering professional insights regarding spiritual needs and care planning.
Leads and facilitates prayer in both small and large group settings, designs services tailored to pastoral needs, and seeks relevant resources beyond one's own faith tradition.
Demonstrates proficient pastoral care abilities in accordance with the standards set by NACC and/or APC.Qualifications:
Master's Degree
Certification from an accredited professional organization such as the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or the Association of Professional Chaplains.
