Career Opportunity:
We are seeking an Operating Room Specialist to join our team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients at Avera Gregory Hospital.
Position Highlights:
- Student Loan Repayment Program: This position is eligible for Avera's Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money. Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster.

Job Summary
This role prepares for surgical procedures, directly assists the surgeon during procedures, oversees aseptic techniques of all personnel involved directly in the technical aspects of the surgical procedures and assists with clean up following surgical procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares for surgical procedures and ensures that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Directly assists the surgeon during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
- Oversees aseptic techniques of all personnel involved directly in the technical aspects of the surgical procedures.
- Assists with clean up following surgical procedures, including the cleaning, packaging, and sterilization of surgical trays and equipment.
- Acts as a resource to the patient care areas for the placement and location of all equipment and supplies for nursing and surgery departments.
Education and/or Experience
- Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Satisfactory completion of an Operating Room Technician program preferred.
Work Schedule
- Ability to work various shifts as scheduled.
Salary Range:
The hourly range for this position is $18.50 - $25.75 per hour. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
