Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at Madera County Superintendent of Schools.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide itinerant services at various school sites to students with communicative disorders, working individually or in small groups to address language development, articulation, voice, and fluency therapy needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screen, assess, and diagnose students with communicative disorders, developing related materials and collaborating with parents and school staff to create Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Provide therapy services to students, adapting to their unique needs and developing goals and objectives to support their progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including diagnostic information, pupil progress, and conference notes.
  • Collaborate with site staff to implement effective programs for students, providing inservice training and support as needed.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of Instructional Assistants or other paraprofessionals, as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, administrators, and staff to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
  • Uphold confidentiality guidelines and maintain a positive, professional image of the Madera County Office of Education.
Requirements:
  • Clinical or Rehabilitative Services-Language Speech and Hearing Credential with Special Class Authorization.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency or California License preferred.
  • Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license.
Working Conditions:

The Speech and Language Pathologist will work in a variety of settings, including classrooms and school sites, with occasional travel required to conduct work.

Physical Demands:

The position requires the ability to sit, stand, and move about the instructional environment, with occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching to assist students.
