Description:

Civil and Environmental Consultants is a leading provider of environmental consulting services. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. As an electrical engineer at CEC, you will be responsible for designing electrical systems for various industries, including industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, real estate, solid waste, power, and public sector.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering. You should also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

In this role, you will work closely with our team of engineers and designers to develop electrical designs, specifications, and construction plans. You will also be responsible for providing quality oversight for electrical designs performed by others and training and mentoring less experienced engineers and designers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop electrical equipment layout, single-line diagrams, interconnecting wiring, embedded conduit, cable tray, heat trace, lighting, and grounding drawings.
  • Generate electrical equipment and construction specifications.
  • Develop power studies, including short-circuit analysis and incident energy calculations using ETAP or SKM software.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably with relevant experience on industrial or manufacturing projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of industry codes and standards (NFPA/NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, API, and ASI).
