Job Title: Incoming Quality Technician, Cell Manufacturing

Tesla is seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in quality programs and technical quality processes to join the team overseeing the quality program at the Cell Manufacturing external warehouse facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate in the 'inspect, diagnose and repair' mindset, while working closely with manufacturing, process, and quality teams to establish processes and procedures that will ensure consistently high quality.
  • Execute timely corrective action for quality mitigation and containment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support investigation, containment, and execution for strategic quality issues.
  • Monitor quality, determine the root cause of problems and implement corrective actions and countermeasures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Analyze and disposition component and product defects as a member of the Material Review Board.
  • Inspect parts using CMM, Profilometer, vision systems designated to each part number.
  • Maintain 5S's in Metrology Lab, by using labeling system and keep workspace clean and organized.
  • Support the development and lead the implementation of Metrology standards and best practices in all aspects of Dimensional inspection inside and outside the Metrology Lab.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years' experience working in manufacturing or quality environment.
  • Knowledge to use various types of inspection tools, such as Keyence Microscopes, OGPs, CMMs.
  • Ability to use MS-word, Excel, PowerPoint, electronic e-mail system, collect and analyze data using SPC.
  • Ability to wear PPE, which may include a full-face respirator and coveralls as needed due to working with hazardous chemicals.
  • Experience with extensive problem-solving, root cause analysis, and Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ability to lift and sort parts of up to 30 pounds as needed.
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Expected Compensation: $33.84 - $42.73/hour, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits.
