ChristianaCare, a nationally recognized healthcare leader, is seeking a BE/BC Vascular Neurologist to join its well-established physician-led practice. With over 230 patients treated for TNK and 225 mechanical thrombectomies performed annually, the organization's busy stroke center demands exceptional care.
About the RoleThis individual will collaborate with a team of 10 Vascular Neurologists and Neurohospitalists, overseeing acute stroke care and general consults at ChristianaCare. Separate services exist for consultative work, including acute stroke management, primary stroke service, and stroke follow-up clinic. In-person work takes place at the Newark and Wilmington campuses, supported by an internal tele-network covering all acute strokes across the system.
ChristianaCare's Comprehensive Stroke Center in Delaware has received the highest possible awards from the American Heart Association for over 5 years, while the Wilmington campus is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center. The program features a dedicated Neurointensive Care Unit staffed by neurocritical care physicians, transitional Neuro Unit, epilepsy monitoring unit, and acute inpatient beds staffed by neuro-trained nurses and allied health specialists.
- Must have an M.D., D.O. or equivalent degree and be BE/BC in Neurology; BE/BC in Vascular Neurology preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and quality communication abilities are required.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations is desirable.
