Position Summary
The Nursery Care Specialist is responsible for providing a nurturing and safe environment for infants and toddlers aged from birth to three years. This role requires a compassionate individual with prior childcare experience, who is committed to fostering a loving atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
The Nursery Care Specialist will report directly to the Director of Children's Ministries and will be tasked with the following duties:
- Ensure that every child in the nursery and preschool is treated with love, respect, and dignity, reinforcing their value as a unique creation.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment, adhering strictly to the established health guidelines.
- Engage children in age-appropriate Christian activities during their time in care.
- Assist with personal care needs, including diaper changes and restroom assistance.
- Sanitize the changing area and toys regularly, using approved cleaning supplies.
- Organize and maintain a clean and orderly play area, including toys, books, and other materials.
- Support and assist nursery volunteers as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's experiences.
- Keep accurate attendance records.
- Report any concerns regarding child safety to the appropriate authority.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned when no children are present.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be a caring and mature Christian, capable of relating well to both children and adults.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Pass all required background checks.
- Have experience working with children in a group setting.
- Provide proof of negative TB and drug tests, as well as full COVID-19 vaccination.
- Be available for scheduled hours on Sundays and during special Christian observances.
- Be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Participate in annual child safety training.
- Supervise volunteer nursery attendants as needed.
