We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School-Based Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at ProCare Therapy. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in enhancing students' communication and learning abilities.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will assess students' speech and language skills, develop and implement individualized therapy plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support each student's educational and developmental goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language skills, and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy goals based on assessment findings and student needs.
- Therapeutic Intervention: Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, including articulation therapy, language intervention, and communication strategies. Design and implement therapeutic activities to improve students' communication abilities and support their academic success.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to integrate speech and language strategies into the classroom environment and daily routines. Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for communication support and modifications.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress, therapy plans, and session notes. Prepare reports for IEP meetings, progress reviews, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and special education. Engage in ongoing professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state.
- Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Experience: Experience in a school-based setting or working with children with diverse needs. Experience with IEP development and implementation is preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of speech-language pathology principles, techniques, and best practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and adapt to the needs of students.
