Production Supervisor Machining

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assembly and Machining Supervisor to join our team at Linamar Corporation. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising assembly and machining personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and direct the activities of employees and equipment to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.
- Allocate work to employees, set production targets, and communicate precise instructions to ensure effective utilization of plant resources.
- Develop and maintain effective employee relations, including responding to employee concerns and working with HR to resolve issues.
- Monitor and initiate training activities in the department and ensure all related documentation is up-to-date.
- Ensure a safe working environment and conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Complete performance evaluations for the department as required and participate in the corrective action process.
- Assume a wide variety of roles to coordinate job tasks with workers and subcontractors, and work accordingly to company mandates for communication, meetings, and projects.
- High School Diploma or equivalent general education.
- Journeyman-woman trade certification in a related field is considered an asset.
- Minimum of three years of high-pressure die casting experience in AL and MS, and supervision experience is considered an asset.
- Possess excellent comprehension skills to read completed inspection forms and ensure all maintenance, repair, and inspection tasks have been adequately completed by workers.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to advise managers and supervisors on progress of jobs and obtain instructions and tasks.
- Possess coaching skills to train employees on equipment procedures, maintenance tasks, troubleshooting faults, and root cause analysis.
- Organize and lead meetings with employees and assume a wide variety of roles to coordinate job tasks with workers and subcontractors.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot machines and equipment, and knowledge of basic computer applications and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to continuously learn about new technologies, new products, and new information within changing industries, and participate in seminars, courses, and other learning opportunities through the organization.
- Knowledge of application, employment, and safety legislation.
