Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team at Corewell Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing cardiopulmonary stress testing and physiological evaluation, analyzing external cardiacs, and assisting in the implantable device management.

• Plans, develops, and conducts graded exercise testing.
• Monitors patient activity, physiological response, and adherence to exercise sessions.
• Provides specific exercise prescriptions to individuals based on age, culture, and orthopedic considerations.
• Analyzes external monitor findings utilizing appropriate technology and processes, reports according to protocol, and assists in the management of patients with implantable devices.
• Provides patient education on heart-healthy lifestyle choices and creates educational materials as needed.
• Assists with new employee orientation within the department and communicates with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.

• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• Preferred: Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• Skills and knowledge typically gained through less than 2 years of relevant experience in conducting graded exercise testing, cardiovascular physiology, risk factor identification/modification, and basic electrocardiogram (EKG) knowledge or completion of an internship in Cardiac Rehab.

• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association.
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association.
• CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association.
• CRT-Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Certified (CEP) - ACSM American College of Sports Medicine.

This is a part-time position with a Core Rotation at Ludington. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, having completed a Cardiac Rehab Internship, and be willing to take the ACSM Exam within 180 days from hire date, BLS and ACLS within 90 days from hire date.
