We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of travel nurses at Travel Nurse Across America. This exciting opportunity is available in Lynchburg, Virginia, where you will have the chance to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Summary

This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the perfect combination of challenge and reward. As a MedSurg RN, you will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, prioritizing data collection, and providing ongoing care and education to patients and their families.

Our ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. Additionally, they will be able to lift up to 20 pounds easily and move or lift patients that may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times.

The salary for this position is approximately $**$120-$150 per hour**, which translates to a total estimated salary of **$**156,000 - $198,000** for the duration of the 13-week assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs
  • Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician
  • Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families
  • Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient
  • Educate patients on surgical procedures
  • Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician
Requirements
  • BLS certification
  • At least 1-2 years of recent acute care experience
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds easily and move or lift patients that may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
