Cake Artist

We take pride in creating beautiful baked goods for our customers. Our team of skilled Cake Artists work together to create a wide range of sweet treats, from cakes to pastries, according to company guidelines and customer requests.

• Customer Service: Provide premier customer service, including greeting customers and answering their questions.
• Cake Decoration: Ices, decorates, and maintains product in freezer and refrigerated showcases.
• Order Fulfillment: Fills customer special orders, including wedding cakes.
• Product Preparation: Ices, decorates, packages, labels, and prices products for production and fulfillment of backstock.
• Sales: Sells products by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisions.
• Equipment Operation: Operates the Bakery equipment, including ovens, sinks, mixer, etc. as needed.
• Food Safety and Sanitation: Follows Edwards Food Giant's guidelines for cake decorators and maintains Edwards Food Giant's high standards for product freshness and sanitation.

• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age.
• Experience: Experience as Decorator or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of decorating.
• Customer Service Skills: Ability to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service.
• Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and perform simple math problems.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret and follow instructions and solve problems.
• Food Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of Federal Food Safety and Sanitation Regulations.

Cake Decorators perform their duties primarily in the Bakery but will at times need to assist in the Deli. They may be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work involves walking, standing, bending, and lifting and carrying products weighing up to 60 pounds. Duties also include repetitive arm and hand movements and hand-squeezing for at least 85% of the workday.
