Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to lead the design and implementation of critical hardware for our humanoid robot. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and integrating FPGA logic designs to ensure the robot's performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of complex FPGA-based systems from concept to production, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  2. Architecture and Design: Architect, design, implement, validate, and integrate FPGA logic designs (custom RTL and/or 3rd party IP) to meet system requirements.
  3. Trade Studies: Conduct trade studies on new FPGA designs, considering factors such as cost, size, power, 3rd party IP, and technology to ensure optimal solutions.
  4. Design Specifications: Develop high-level and detailed design specifications based on system requirements, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  5. RTL Design: Create and optimize RTL designs using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL, ensuring efficient and reliable performance.
  6. Design Verification: Perform synthesis, place-and-route, and timing analysis to ensure design performance and reliability, and debug and resolve issues related to FPGA designs.
  7. Collaboration: Collaborate with electrical and software teams to integrate FPGA designs into larger systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
Requirements
  1. Industry Experience: 5+ years of industry experience in FPGA design and development.
  2. FPGA Expertise: Strong experience with FPGA-based camera systems, including image processing, camera interfaces, real-time video processing, and video compression algorithms.
  3. RTL Design Experience: Experience with RTL design using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
  4. Design Verification: Experience with design verification and validation using simulation and hardware testing.
  5. FPGA Architectures: In-depth knowledge of FPGA architectures and digital design principles.
  6. Industry Standards: Experience with industry standards and protocols (PCIe, Ethernet, MIPI, DDR, etc).
  7. Soft and Hard Processor Blocks: Experience with soft and hard processor blocks in an FPGA design (i.e. RISC-V, Microblaze, NIOS, etc).
  8. FPGA Toolsuites: Experience working with various FPGAs and toolsuites (AMD, Altera, Lattice).
  9. Embedded Systems: Knowledge of embedded systems and software development.
  10. Hardware Debugging: Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
  11. EE Fundamentals: A good grasp of EE fundamentals.
Bonus Qualifications
  1. Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python for embedded systems development.
  2. High-Level Synthesis: Experience with high-level synthesis (HLS) and FPGA-based DSP design.
  3. Power Electronics: Experience with power electronics based FPGA designs.
