Job Summary:
The Lead Teacher is a key member of our team at Abacus Childcare, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kindergarten program. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced educator who can lead and motivate our staff to provide exceptional care and education to our young students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Formulate and implement the curriculum, weekly lesson plans, and training programs for Assistant Teachers.
- Classroom Management: Help in the classroom as needed, and at times, take on additional responsibilities in other areas of the center.
- Liaison and Communication: Serve as a liaison with parents and staff, fostering positive relationships and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and train Assistant Teachers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and support to excel in their roles.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage paperwork, update children's files, and perform other administrative duties as required.
- Special Events: Participate in special functions and events, promoting a positive and engaging experience for our students and families.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, ensuring our center remains compliant and innovative.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: A minimum of a CDA (Child Development Associate) credential and relevant classroom experience.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate staff, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a positive and professional attitude.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time position with a competitive hourly wage range of $17-$20 per hour. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
