Position Overview:
Supervisor of Electric Operations

General Summary:

The Supervisor of Electric Operations is accountable for the strategic planning, direction, regulatory compliance, and oversight to ensure the successful execution of field construction, maintenance, service, and emergency operations for the Company’s Electric Transmission and Distribution systems in a safe and cost-efficient manner.


Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory experience in operations and construction is essential.
Distribution Authority - Switching and Tagging Certification or the ability to obtain it within one year of promotion is mandatory.
Joint Apprentice Committee assignment - Electric Lines Journeyman Lineworker card - Required.

Key Responsibilities:


Directly supervise OM&C Bargaining employees, ensuring compliance with the Corporate Safety Manual, Electric Methods and Procedures Manual, Electric Distribution Manual, MIOSHA standards, OSHA standards, DOT standards, Business Continuity Plans, Code of Conduct, and all Employee Policy and Process manuals.

Manage grievance procedures, conduct investigations (safety and disciplinary), and oversee associated disciplinary actions.

Ensure adherence to work plans, make necessary adjustments (resources, equipment, materials, etc.), and coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders.

Approve time sheets, manage Estimated Straight Time accounting, schedule CDL Medical appointments, training sessions, Read and Sign adherence, Driver Vehicle Inspection Records compliance, ARCOS entry, edits, and reporting, and oversee Apprentice training/travel/log sheet hours scheduling and compliance, as well as request and reserve on-call resources and storm restoration resources, including Personal Protective Equipment acquisition and distribution with inspection, testing, and replacement.

Lead and participate in Daily Operating Reviews, Weekly Operating Reviews, Monthly Operating Reviews, Rally Rooms, Problem Solving Events, Safety Health and Guidance Teams, Safety Culture Teams, Fix It Now Teams, and Financial Programs.

As a leader, participate in the On-Call rotation for the zone (averaging 12 weeks per year), be available for storm restoration, and respond to urgent events 24/7.

Recommend enhancements and modifications to systems and facility operations; address complaints and requests for information; prepare and maintain reports on completed job orders and the status of ongoing jobs.

Conduct site inspections to monitor work progress, ensure satisfactory completion, and plan new assignments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of Working Agreement application to manage OM&C Workforce
Familiarity with the Corporate Safety Manual - all relevant sections pertaining to Electric Operations

Proficient in storm processes and the use of supporting computer systems and programs (e.g., Arcos, OMAR/Service Suite, OMS, and Outlook).

In-depth knowledge of safe work practices and procedures; comprehensive understanding of electric distribution operations and construction.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to drive change in a competitive business environment.

Technical expertise in electric transmission, electric distribution, or electric metering, acquired through a technical field of study and/or relevant work experience.

Supervisory capabilities (negotiation, conflict resolution, employee development, etc.).
Problem-solving skills
Presentation abilities.
