Job Overview

This role requires a highly skilled Hotel Equipment Technician to ensure the efficient operation of the hotel's mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of maintenance trades, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems and other equipment throughout the hotel.
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks on a schedule basis, including "room care" assignments.
  • Services the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters, and completes maintenance request forms and record logs.
  • Maintains the building exterior and curb appeal by performing lawn care, painting, and gardening duties.
  • Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of all maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry skills.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude for operating and repairing hotel equipment.
  • Ability to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel and take corrective action.
  • Willingness to comply with hotel policies and procedures, including appearance and grooming standards, safety protocols, key control, and emergency procedures.
  • Skilled in several areas, such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywalling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical and electrical malfunctions in hotel systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with basic hand and electric tools and knowledge of parts and materials.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet conditions.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb on various surfaces.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders at a rapid pace, up to 30 feet in the air.
