Job Title: Bobtail Truck Driver

Goodwill Southern California is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Bobtail Truck Driver to handle the transportation of goods. As a Bobtail Truck Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and collecting goods while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regularly inspect vehicle and complete daily inspection forms.
  • Comply with company safety procedures and Department of Motor Vehicles regulations.
  • Report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Load, secure, and unload goods.
  • Complete assigned route efficiently.
  • Ensure all related paperwork is filled out correctly.
  • Present a friendly, cooperative attitude at all times and maintain a well-groomed appearance.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Hold a valid California driver's license and meet the requirements of the company's insurance carrier.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of class C driving experience.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to work moderate supervision.
  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred.
  • Bobtail knowledge preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Pass forklift operator certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Shift flexibility and overtime when needed.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Free from alcohol and drug abuse.
  • Adhere to Goodwill's values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
  • Proficiency in Vehicle Tracking system.
Required Training:
  • New Hire Orientation.
  • Harassment Prevention (non-management).
