Position Summary:

The ISP Technician - 2 will be responsible for the on-site installation of voice, data, and fiber optic cabling. This role requires adherence to established procedures during installations and effective communication with clients regarding job status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prepare pathways and supports for new cabling systems.
  • Pull copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cables in various environments.
  • Terminate voice and data jacks from multiple brands.
  • Install and dress data cables on patch panels.
  • Utilize various methods to terminate SM and MM fiber optic cables.
  • Conduct testing of copper cable installations and troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Assist in testing fiber optic cables using appropriate equipment.
  • Build out data closets, including the installation of necessary racks and equipment.
  • Read blueprints to identify cabling pathways and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Mentor and train Level 1 Technicians.
  • Follow industry-standard grounding and bonding procedures.
  • Implement approved fire stopping methods and materials.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess 2-3 years of experience in the low voltage cabling sector, demonstrating the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
