Geotechnical Engineering Internship Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our geotechnical engineering team at Gannett Fleming. As a geotechnical engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including geotechnical reports, designs, and analysis for structures such as dams, bridges, and buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with geotechnical reports, designs, and analysis for structures such as dams, bridges, and buildings
  • Aid in field reconnaissance and observation of exploration borings on challenging terrains
  • Assist in planning subsurface exploration and laboratory testing
  • Contribute to the design and analysis of foundations for dams, bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure
  • Provide support for construction observation activities during project execution

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related area, with a preferred focus on Geotechnical Engineering
  • Demonstrated interest in geotechnical engineering through prior internships or applied academic coursework
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Comfortable working in challenging environments including remote terrains

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with geotechnical software such as Slope, STABL, and gINT
